  1. Get 1 cup oats, dry roasted
  2. Make ready 1/4 cup moong dal (split green gram), soaked for 2-3 hours

  4. Make ready 1 small onion, chopped
  5. Prepare 1 tsp. ginger, grated
  6. Make ready 1 tsp. garlic, grated
  7. Get 2-3 tbsp. coriander leaves, chopped

  11. Take 1/2 tsp. roasted cumin powder
  12. Take 1/2 tsp. nigella seeds (kalonji)
  13. Get 1/4 tsp. pepper powder
  14. Prepare oil to shallow fry
Instructions to make Oats Tikki:
  1. Grind the soaked moong dal with very less water into a paste. Mix with rest of the ingredients (except oil) into a dough.
  2. Divide into small equal portions and give any shape you desire. Refrigerate for a couple of minutes.
  3. Heat 1-2 tbsp. oil in a pan and shallow fry these tikkis in batches till they are light golden in colour.
  4. Serve as an appetizer along with green chutney/sauce or as a tea-time snack.
